General Questions

Can I fly with my (loved one) and the Nurse?

Absolutely.  You are an integral part of the journey and we’d love you to be there!

How much lead time do you need to prepare a travel plan?

Each traveller’s situation is different so the time varies.  With expert advice and discussion with your travel agent even a short-notice trip could be arranged.  However, we would prefer a couple of weeks to make sure all the important details are covered.  Short notice may also affect availability of a Companion, but we will always endeavour to do our best.

How much will a trip cost?

There are two parts to the travel cost picture.  Our service and the transportation.  Assuming you are fit to fly, we will discuss your planned trip and then quote on the services.  As an idea on transportation, clients pay for the Companion’s tickets, hotel room (if necessary), meals, incidentals, travel insurance and visa, if required.  The Service fees are then calculated on the trip.

How do I make travel arrangements?

f you phone us directly, or your travel agent contacts us we will all work closely together to finalise your travel plans.  We will guide you through this process and the planning steps.  We will work with your family or friends, (even if they are overseas) if they are an integral part of the plan.

How do I know that I will be in good hands?

Our RN’s are experienced travellers and have a good medical knowledge to assist with any event or difficulty that may arise.  Our companions keep designated contact people in touch periodically throughout the journey via either email or whatsap, so you are reassured of peace of mind.  Our Companions undergo a select credentialing process prior to employment.  We take our clients’ welfare very seriously.

How do I get to or from the departure point e.g. airport?

Depending on where you are leaving from, that can be discussed to find the best solution.  It may mean the Companion collecting you, a taxi or Uber, or meeting at the departure point.  This can be discussed when the plans are being finalised.

What happens if my flight is late, miss my ship?

Our Companions will provide periodic updates to your designated contact person during your trip so they will be informed of any significant travel changes.  If a flight is cancelled for example, or we miss the ship sailing time, we will make the necessary arrangements to deal with those delays.

Where do you travel?

Anywhere in the world except destinations that are declared unsafe to travel to.

What about people who are mentally impaired in some way e.g. alzheimers.

If they are certified medically fit to fly, we can assist.

Do you accompany children?

Yes, we can accompany children 5 years or older who are meeting a parent or family member at the destination.

Do you provide medical assistance?

We are all qualified Registered Nurses, with updated Basic Life Support training, but can only provide limited medical assistance in the event of an emergency.   We would initiate assistance and then allow local medical support to take over e.g. paramedic.

Where do you operate from?

Our main offices are in Durban
